Sharon Bridburg

Director of Strategic Talent Management

Sharon has been a member of the MIT community since 1995. As Director of Strategic Talent Management in Human Resources, she leads strategies and services in recruitment, organization development, recognition, and talent and career development. Sharon’s team provides workshops and development programs, including Leader to Leader (L2L).

Sharon began her career at MIT as a Human Resources Officer (HRO) before being promoted to Special Advisor for Human Resources to the Dean for Student Life and Undergraduate Education, and Director of Human Resources in the Office of the Dean for Undergraduate Education.

Before joining Human Resources, Sharon oversaw the HR team in Office of the Vice (OVC) in the planning, development, implementation, and analysis of HR strategies and initiatives aimed at attracting, retaining, developing, and engaging the diverse talent needed to achieve organizational goals. She provided expert consultation, advice, and feedback to leadership and employees on a wide range of HR matters.

Sharon was an instrumental partner, along with OVC leadership, in the creation of a values-based culture. Sharon is a member of the MIT Council on Belonging, Achievement, and Composition, and co-founded the OVC Council on Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion. In 2012 she received an MIT Excellence Award for “Bringing out the Best.”
