Designating a Beneficiary

Is your beneficiary designation up-to-date? It is important to officially designate—and update, as needed—the person(s) you want to receive benefits from the MIT pension, 401(k), and life insurance plans in the event of your death.

Follow the instructions under each plan to update your beneficiary designation.

MIT Pension Plan

To find out who you designated as your Pension Plan beneficiary or to designate a new beneficiary, visit PensionConnect. Current employees may access PensionConnect (Touchstone required). Former employees and retirees who have an existing PensionConnect account may access their account. If you are a new user or you need assistance accessing your pension account, please contact the MIT Pension Service Center at 855-464-8736.
MIT Supplemental
401(k) Plan		 Visit Fidelity NetBenefits and click the link to Your Profile. Or call the Fidelity Benefit Center at 877-648-7283.
MIT Life Insurance Plans Download the MetLife Beneficiary Designation Form. Please complete and mail the original form:
  • On Campus: MIT Benefits, NE49-5000, 77 Massachusetts Ave., Cambridge, MA 02139. Copies can be faxed to 617-253-2694.
  • At Lincoln Laboratory: Lincoln Laboratory, Benefits Office, Room S2-127, 244 Wood Street, Lexington, MA 02420-9108.
