Managing money and people is always a challenge. But when you must comply with the policies and systems of Harvard Medical School and its teaching hospitals, as well as MIT, the task becomes truly complex. HST is unique in that MIT and Harvard Medical School administer the Division jointly. Faculty members come from both institutions and they have staff on both Harvard and MIT campuses and payrolls. HST students take courses at both institutions and do research in labs at MIT, HMS and the hospitals. You start to get the picture!
