Team Leriche

Supervisor
Department of Custodial Services, Department of Facilities
Serving our Community
Award presented by
Ramona Allen, Vice President for Human Resources

This recipient of a “Serving Our Community” award is actually a team of five people:

  • Michael Leriche and his team from MIT Facilities:
  • Anthony Anzalone, Working Foreman
  • David Solomon Carrasco, Machine Operator Custodian
  • Larrenton Forrest, Machine Operator Custodian
  • Joseph Vieira, Machine Operator Custodian

Several colleagues wrote to recommend Team Leriche for its outstanding service to the community during an important triennial inspection. The team was responsible for the extensive cleaning of 38 laboratories—240 individual rooms. They had to navigate around complex, state-of-the-art equipment. And the preparation for this inspection had to be accomplished over an exceptionally short period of time.

The team completely wowed the colleagues who were depending on them. But most importantly—they wowed the inspectors!

World-class research does not happen without world-class facilities. As one colleague noted, “Team Leriche’s efforts have been a critical part of demonstrating MIT’s high standards when it comes to academic research.”
