Steven Holland

Stockroom Supervisor
Contracting Services Department, Lincoln Laboratory
Award presented by
Maria Zuber, Vice President for Research

Steven Holland’s coworkers have enthusiastically nominated him for this award because of the remarkable impact he has had in his four years at MIT Lincoln Laboratory. Steven is stockroom supervisor for the Contracting Services Department or CSD. He manages all aspects of stockroom operations—processing 55,000 customer transactions every year. His colleagues have singled him out for this award because of his outstanding performance in introducing pioneering new processes, practices, and procedures, including: a “major procurement” dashboard that enables customers to track the real-time status of major purchases, an online stockroom catalog and parametric search tool listing 8,500 materials, an automated purchase order expediting process, and
an automated procurement planning tool that allows customers to gauge the approximate lead time of items they need to purchase

One of his colleagues told us that “Steven is never daunted by roadblocks or setbacks. He inevitably finds workarounds to get the job done. Our goal in the CSD is to form closer working relationships with our customers, and Steven’s innovations make that possible. His commitment is unsurpassed.”

Steven Holland, congratulations on your Excellence Award!
