Bringing Out the Best
It is no mere coincidence that MISTI has expanded steadily and that it is today the nation’s largest and most successful program of applied international studies. The associate director of MISTI has been putting her energy, wisdom, and charm to use developing the program for years. Called ‘a visionary leader whose spontaneous enthusiasm and zeal for life can barely be contained,’ she has a passionate belief in our mission to help MIT students become informed global citizens.
Her mentorship, coaching, unstinting support, and inspirational example help both staffers and students cultivate a passion for their work. One alumna described the support she got in fulfilling her dream of working in the Japanese import business. She said that our awardee exemplifies what an MIT education is all about. It is about having the confidence to know you can make a difference in the world.
