Graham Gordon Ramsay

Going Above and Beyond
Graham was appointed program coordinator of the Experimental Study Group (ESG) several years ago. His main responsibilities are to handle administrative tasks including purchasing and the student payroll, and to coordinate program activities such as weekly luncheons. He was hired as a part-time staff member and has excelled at all of these responsibilities and much, much more.

Graham has a background in photography, composing, and teaching, and has been able to offer ESG a tremendous amount of extra talent, including doing video interviews with ESG alumni for a recent west coast reunion. He is co-teaching a new seminar called "Composing a Life: Exploring Self Through Photography, Art, and Written Word." The course is team-taught with the director of ESG and they are currently collaborating on a textbook that will be used for future courses.

He has created a new student database system, helped organize two different alumni reunions, expanded ESG's Friday luncheons (which have yielded 50% greater attendance as a result), reorganized the entire student payroll system and organized several student musical concerts. His motivation, creativity, and ability to get things done are simply extraordinary and have greatly enhanced ESG administratively, socially, and academically. His nominator said, "At this point, it is hard to imagine what ESG would be like without Graham. He has made a real difference to our community."

For going the extra mile time and again for the faculty and students of ESG, we are pleased to honor you, Graham, with this award.
