The first award recipient in this category has been a driving force behind many major educational reforms.This individual, Peggy Enders, through her wisdom, caring and hard work, has had a hand in many positive changes in MIT's undergraduate educational mission over the past 20 years.One recent contribution was the establishment of the student exchange for the Cambridge-MIT Institute. Because of her leadership and dogged persistence, the program has grown from 7 MIT student participants in the first year to close to 50 in the third year. A similar number of Cambridge students is coming to MIT.These results enhance MIT's competitive advantage in recruiting high school seniors who are interested in universities that provide international exchange opportunities.Because of her commitment to undergraduate education, care for enhancing the students' academic experience, and for leading change that has resulted in an unprecedented educational interaction between MIT and the University of Cambridge, it is our honor to present Peggy Enders with an MIT EXCELLENCE Award for Leading Change.
