Jeffrey Grossman

Jeff did his best to bring together the as many Course 3 seniors before our time to leave, securing attendance from many of the professors in our course for a too-quick goodbye. His commitment to bringing us all together for one final celebration was an amazing move that really moved the entire community.
Anthony Cheng, Materials Science and Engineering

Jeff Saint Dic

Jeff, the Area Director of MacGregor House (and Burton Conner!), has worked tirelessly to make sure our move out experience was stress-less as possible, from managing storage to ordering pizza dinners to checking up on people individually. He's an amazing person and deserves an incredible amount of appreciation.
Anthony Cheng, Materials Science and Engineering

I would like to thank my advisor Vladan for his support. I feel very lucky to have a advisor who cares so much about his group members. Thank you!
Yu-Ting, Physics; CUA

Cathy Modica and Peter Fisher

Cathy and Peter are the light in the midst of COVID-19 changes. Thank you very much for helping the physics department! I would especially like to thank Cathy for her kind emails and thank Peter for providing us the latest information (and a good list of physics books). I really appreciate it!
Yu-Ting, Physics

MIT Graduate Student of Color Advisory Council

Earlier this evening, I witnessed community care at it's best during the #MIT Graduate Student of Color Advisory Council (GSOC-AC) as the group graciously held space for one another and thoughtfully evaluated the impact of Covid-19 on individuals, communities of color, and the Institute at-large. Thank you for continuously demonstrating courageous vulnerability, resilience, and care for a community that oftentimes overlooks your worthiness of care.
Gloria Anglón, Office of Graduate Education

Greg Walton and the IT Deployment and Maintenance team

Thanks to Greg and the amazing people at the IT Deployment and Maintenance (ITDM) Team for helping us image 10 laptops in record time so that our support staff could work from home. This was such an amazing help, and they deserve recognition!!!
Michele Harris, Chemistry

Judy Robinson and David Friedrich

There are approximately 1,000 decisions to be made every day about how to keep the residential community safe and supported at this strange time. Judy and David have worked around the clock to make these decisions promptly and deliberately, while also managing to keep the house teams informed, answer our (many, many) questions, and take our concerns seriously. We could not have made it through these last 10 days without their patience, care, and 8:30am phone calls!
The URL Team, Residential Education

Office of the Vice Chancellor Staff

Thank you to the unnamed heroes who have been carrying a heavy load. We don't see their names in emails but we know you are ever-present supporting our students and staff!

Judy, David, Rich, and Don

You all have been fearless leaders in all of this, listening to everyone's voices and verifying they are validated and supported. We all appreciate what you are doing. Thanks for pushing to keep us all safe!

Ganatra

Thank you so much for organizing and working storage and checkouts! It made it moving out so much less stressful!
Sophia Sonnert, First Year

Ollie Gelmont

Ollie, under his own initiative, became a foster plant parent for anyone in W98 who wanted their plants watered while we WFH. Ollie converted empty conference rooms into temporary greenhouses, shared pictures of our green babies neatly organized into rows for watering, and assured us, "I’ve never had a green thumb, but I’ll do my best to keep them all happy…" What compassion. Let's give this man a round of applause.
Plant Parents of W98, Resource Development and Alumni Association

Jeff Grossman and Course 3 Department

Thank you Jeff, Angelita, John, and all other professors, instructors, and staff in the Course 3 Department. These times have been incredibly difficult but your support and encouragement have made a huge difference in our attitudes regarding this situation. Your senior send-off and other supporting messages have been received so warmly - you have made this easier for all of us.
Sofia Lobo, Course 3 Undergraduate Senior

Ollie Gelmont

Single-handedly taking care of everyone's plants in W98. You're the best, Ollie!
Brielle Domings, MIT Alumni Association

Judy Robinson & David Friedrich

Its heartwarming that the MIT community is coming together to recognize all the extra work and support that DSL, Res Hall Housteams, and student workers have been doing. But two folks in particular have not yet been able to be recognized, Judy and David. They have been non-stop on phone calls, texts, emails putting aside their families and lives to help guide students and staff through this difficult situation. At the forefront of all these difficult decisions is a thankless place. We recognize the time, energy, and consideration that you both have given to MIT in the past week +. We will all weather this storm together, and we are lucky to have folks at the top who care so much.
Your Colleague, Division of Student Life

Michael Moran

Michael has been working non-stop to make sure that everyone (including administrators, faculty, students and research staff in the KI) is set-up with work-from-home arrangements. We'd be lost without his guidance and expertise. Thank you, Michael!
Terry Clewley, Koch Institute

Ganatra

Ganatra helped out so much with BC storage and checkouts; we couldn’t have done it without him!
Autumn Geil, Course 3, Burton Conner

MIT News Office staff

You have all stepped up during the current crisis not only to help the world understand MIT — but much more importantly, at this moment, to help MIT understand itself. I appreciate all that you are doing to support and inform our MIT community, in its suddenly scrambled form, even as many of you are shouldering significant family responsibilities of your own. Over the past six months, your work has been more important to MIT than ever. As always, I am in awe of your professionalism, dedication, and community spirit.
Steve Bradt, Executive Director, MIT News Office

Sarah Farrington, Leny Gocheva, Jennifer Lynn, Ryan Murphy

This team has worked tirelessly and done a phenomenal job addressing our research operations scale-back plans by ensuring that our PIs, lab members, and core facilities users are informed and prepared. It's a monumental task and they've handled it with amazing aplomb. Thank you!
Terry Clewley, Koch Institute

Ollie Gelmont

The Office of Philanthropic Partnerships would like to recognize Ollie Gelmont, who works in the Facilities and Operations department of W98, for his exceptional and above-and-beyond care of our office building while most of us are away. In addition to receiving packages, delivering mail to each floor (including taking photos of mail and sending to various staff), coordinating facilities projects, and clearing out refrigerators, today he most graciously offered to care for our plants by setting up little greenhouses in conference rooms! His thoughtfulness has touched so many of us and we would like to acknowledge his amazing work!
Office of Philanthropic Partnerships (OPP), Resource Development

Department Head Anne White

Anne White has worked tirelessly to support all members of the NSE community in these hard times. While still on campus, she worked to provide storage supplies for NSE undergrads and support for students looking for housing exemptions. Each day she has sent out a daily update on the numerous changes due to COVID19, which has helped me to organize all of the new information coming my way. I feel completely supported and her work has greatly reduced my stress in such a chaotic time. Thank you so much for all of your work!
Leanne Galanek, Nuclear Science and Engineering
