Mathew Ganatra

Ganatra worked tirelessly at Burton Conner to make sure everyone was able to store their things on time. He worked way more than should have been expected of him and he did most of it single-handedly.
Alejandro Diaz, 6-2 major, ESI minor, Latin American and Latinx Studies minor

Leonardo Urbano, Lori Layne, Sung Son, Kathy Rink, Eric Evans

My leadership, all the way from the director's office to my team lead, has been excellent. They have prioritized employee and public health over work continuity and productivity, while still enabling us to be productive. I'm proud to work at an organization that cares about its employees this much.
Evan Zinner, Lincoln Lab - Group 36

Gareth Griffin

Every day since we were told to work from home, Gareth has reached out to us to make sure we are okay. He has done everything possible to put us to ease during this dark time.
Cynthia Silck Flannery, SIMS

Ollie Gelmont

Ollie's kindness, compassion, and humor have been on full display this week as he has singlehandedly ensured the building is secure while we're all away - down to creating makeshift greenhouses in conference rooms to care for everyone's office plants! Just this morning, he sent us all pictures of the building so we wouldn't forget about it. Even on a regular day, he's always available with a laugh and a smile, and is one of those people who just makes work better.
W98 Basement Dweller, Resource Development

MIT Parking and Transportation

Thank you to the whole team for providing us with a choice to suspend April commuter rail passes purchases. I’m sure it was not an easy process and required a lot of extra effort—but it has enabled so many to conserve resources in a very anxious time period.
Brian Goldberg, MIT Office of Sustainability

MIT Committee

I want to thank MIT because even in the emergency of evacuating students out of campus it made this process most civilly. MIT helped me with my flight home, and I managed to arrive home a day before my county closed its borders. Also, MIT helped me financially, I am an international student and each flight for me is quite expensive for me. MIT also helped me with paying the flight cost. I am glad to be affiliated with MIT and want to thank MIT really cares about its students.
Serhii Kryhin, Physics Department

Cindy Barnhart, Suzy Nelson, Ian Waitz

Although I've had my gripes with the administration at times, and the initial response to shut down MIT seemed incredibly extreme at the time, I must applaud the MIT administration for their foresight and subsequent commitments to help students in this time of crisis. Decisions were made in a timely fashion yet still supported all students, especially those at risk, even when the timeline was moved up.
Anthony Cheng, Materials Science and Engineering

Jeffrey Grossman

Jeff did his best to bring together the as many Course 3 seniors before our time to leave, securing attendance from many of the professors in our course for a too-quick goodbye. His commitment to bringing us all together for one final celebration was an amazing move that really moved the entire community.
Anthony Cheng, Materials Science and Engineering

Jeff Saint Dic

Jeff, the Area Director of MacGregor House (and Burton Conner!), has worked tirelessly to make sure our move out experience was stress-less as possible, from managing storage to ordering pizza dinners to checking up on people individually. He's an amazing person and deserves an incredible amount of appreciation.
Anthony Cheng, Materials Science and Engineering

Vladan Vuletic

I would like to thank my advisor Vladan for his support. I feel very lucky to have a advisor who cares so much about his group members. Thank you!
Yu-Ting, Physics; CUA

Cathy Modica and Peter Fisher

Cathy and Peter are the light in the midst of COVID-19 changes. Thank you very much for helping the physics department! I would especially like to thank Cathy for her kind emails and thank Peter for providing us the latest information (and a good list of physics books). I really appreciate it!
Yu-Ting, Physics

MIT Graduate Student of Color Advisory Council

Earlier this evening, I witnessed community care at it's best during the #MIT Graduate Student of Color Advisory Council (GSOC-AC) as the group graciously held space for one another and thoughtfully evaluated the impact of Covid-19 on individuals, communities of color, and the Institute at-large. Thank you for continuously demonstrating courageous vulnerability, resilience, and care for a community that oftentimes overlooks your worthiness of care.
Gloria Anglón, Office of Graduate Education

Greg Walton and the IT Deployment and Maintenance team

Thanks to Greg and the amazing people at the IT Deployment and Maintenance (ITDM) Team for helping us image 10 laptops in record time so that our support staff could work from home. This was such an amazing help, and they deserve recognition!!!
Michele Harris, Chemistry

Judy Robinson and David Friedrich

There are approximately 1,000 decisions to be made every day about how to keep the residential community safe and supported at this strange time. Judy and David have worked around the clock to make these decisions promptly and deliberately, while also managing to keep the house teams informed, answer our (many, many) questions, and take our concerns seriously. We could not have made it through these last 10 days without their patience, care, and 8:30am phone calls!
The URL Team, Residential Education

Ganatra

Thank you so much for organizing and working storage and checkouts! It made it moving out so much less stressful!
Sophia Sonnert, First Year

Ollie Gelmont

Ollie, under his own initiative, became a foster plant parent for anyone in W98 who wanted their plants watered while we WFH. Ollie converted empty conference rooms into temporary greenhouses, shared pictures of our green babies neatly organized into rows for watering, and assured us, "I’ve never had a green thumb, but I’ll do my best to keep them all happy…" What compassion. Let's give this man a round of applause.
Plant Parents of W98, Resource Development and Alumni Association

Jeff Grossman and Course 3 Department

Thank you Jeff, Angelita, John, and all other professors, instructors, and staff in the Course 3 Department. These times have been incredibly difficult but your support and encouragement have made a huge difference in our attitudes regarding this situation. Your senior send-off and other supporting messages have been received so warmly - you have made this easier for all of us.
Sofia Lobo, Course 3 Undergraduate Senior

Ollie Gelmont

Single-handedly taking care of everyone's plants in W98. You're the best, Ollie!
