Presenter: Dana Asby, M.A., M.Ed.; Parenting Teacher and Coach, Peace at Home Parenting Solutions

Students are facing academic loss after this year of school-format changes and increased absences. How can you address the loss and strengthen understanding? Evidence suggests that the most effective starting point is to build empathy. Compassion will help you embrace this academic challenge as a family and, ideally, as part of a compassionate community. This class will identify effective strategies to build a strong academic foundation with your child. After this class, you will be able to:

  • Recognize specific concerns related to academic loss
  • Apply strategies that support your child’s school success with a useful, fresh perspective
  • Reflect on ways you can join with your community to work toward greater understanding
