Next, I would like you to meet Benoit Desbiolles, a postdoc in the Nano-Cybernetic Biotrek Lab at the Media Lab. Those who work with Benoit were very invested in honoring him today because he continually puts his heart and soul into supporting others — professionally and personally. No matter how busy Benoit is with his own work, he is always available — and generous with his time. His qualities as a person and a member of a scientific team, they say, are nothing less than remarkable — and they wanted him to know just how much he is appreciated. He is always willing to help other students and postdocs in the lab — sharing knowledge, providing training, and helping with projects. He has built many equipment setups — including some not immediately related to his own work. He has also taken the initiative to ensure a safe lab environment and good work habits.
One of his colleagues summed up his contributions this way: “Benoit is a role model for all scholars and team players at MIT.”
