Barbara R. Peskin is our next Outstanding Contributor. Barbara's colleagues were passionate about celebrating her accomplishments, and it is easy to understand why.
Barbara is the Math Department's academic administrator, but her colleagues have dubbed her as the department's MVP. Math is the largest major in the School of Science, but, as one colleague noted, "She has created a well-organized and harmonious domain." Colleagues also emphasized her constant care and support of students.
During the pandemic, Barbara adjusted procedures to accommodate remote learning. She also created virtual and hybrid classes that met security rules for international students, which was no small feat. At the same time, she developed multiple ways to keep the department vibrant, cohesive, and connected—which allowed it to thrive throughout the pandemic.
