Our final recipient in the Embracing Diversity, Equity and Inclusion category is Austin Ashe, Senior Associate Director for Culture and Belonging at the Sloan School of Management. Austin's colleagues were very passionate about recognizing him for his efforts on behalf of the communities of Black, Indigenous, and People of Color across Sloan and MIT. In the wake of crises like the murder of George Floyd, Austin has raised awareness and forged crucial support systems. And, he has created rich opportunities for discussion and understanding that many of his colleagues have singled out as life-changing.
One of them shared this: "Austin is a truly inclusive leader whose warm personality makes all employees feel at home. He is able to connect with staff from across the Institute and sets a tone of respect and authenticity, allowing everyone to bring their true selves to work."
