Group 64 is a large and steadily growing team dispersed over several locations at Lincoln Lab and on the West Coast. As group secretary, Linda has risen to the challenge of facilitating communication and team building among the disparate parts. She has instituted several practices that help team members get to know newcomers, including pairing them with a mentor, circulating personalized biographies and hosting group breakfasts. Social events regularly include a way for the Group to give back to the community, such as a food drive.
As her nominator said: Her efforts “help ease the transfer of knowledge on matters both in and outside of MIT and this, in turn, has fostered technical collaborations to address both sponsored research needs and the professional development of new personnel.”
For her success at creating a positive and team-like environment for this diverse group, we are delighted to award Linda an Excellence Award for Work/Life Balance.
