If you work at MIT you are familiar with the work of these extraordinarily hard-working and committed individuals. The AV Technicians are the “come early and stay late” team who provide equipment and set-up for anything from a single flip chart in a meeting room to complex, multi-media events such as a live satellite tele-conference involving eighteen countries or a conference with the Dalai Lama. Their orders average about 130-150 per day. In addition to working on events and classes, they provide weekly service and maintenance for over 100 technology-enhanced classrooms on campus.
Their nominator said that, “They work together to achieve many goals that revolve around better customer service and communications and a comment often heard after the event is over [is] ‘I couldn’t have done this without you.’”
For going above and beyond to provide the MIT community with exceptional client service, we are pleased to award the Audio Visual Services Technicians an MIT Excellence Award.
