Scott Alessandro

Thanks so much for the both the practical and emotional support you've given over the past few days beyond your role as an advisor. Thanks for not letting me do anything rash in the midst of the stressful events last week.
Anonymous '21 , Sloan School of Management

Next-Exec

Thank you next-exec for all the hard work and effort you put into helping Nexties navigate such a difficult time. I can't imagine the immense stress and pressure you all were under as not only did you have to figure out your own situations but also had to also care and provide guidance for 360 other individuals. Your herculean efforts were nothing short of amazing and were honestly quite mind boggling. Thank you for all the emails, the meetings that lasted late into the night, organizing storage, and all the running around that you did. You brought leadership and direction to Next House during a time when it was crucially needed. I'm so fortunate to be in a dorm with such an exceptional student government and I'm proud to call many of you my friends. Once again thank you Tommy, Jiayi, Chelsea, Faraz, Omkar, Ivy, Meghana, Howard, Marissa, Alice, and Arthur!
Blair Anaman Williams, Chemical Engineering department

Cameron Cler

Cameron was incredibly supportive during our time scrambling to move out, providing food and 24/7 support. She did exactly what a GRA should during this time, plus more. We wouldn't have been able to make it through this time without Cameron. <3rd
Holly Jackson, EECS

Matthew Ganatra

Ganatra did so much work to help keep transitions out of Burton-Conner smooth by handling the storage process. Without someone doing what he did, things would have been far messier and more stressful. Thank you, man. I'm sorry we didn't get to spend more time together before you graduate.
Ryan Conti, Class of 2023 Undergraduate

Rishi Shah

Rishi was an incredible leader for the brothers of PBE and for all members of our community. As a leader on the UA, he was a chief point of contact and liaison between students and admin not only during this frantic time, but throughout the past 4 years at MIT. Rishi is a model leader, student, brother, and friend. I can’t wait to see how he takes his work ethic, focus, and compassion and continues to have widespread impact.

Much love, Rishi!
Christien Williams, 6-3 senior

Maseeh 5 GRAs

Eric, Maria, and Amuche really helped everyone on the floor figure this whole thing out and we wouldn't have been able to get through it without them. Thank you all!!
Lillian Linden, Student

Afeefah Khazi-Syed, Yara Komaiha, Raul&Flavia, and McC House Team

Thank you for the mini graduation, providing us with storage, sitting with us in the lobby, and reminding us of the paradise we had to leave too early.
McCormick Resident

Alan Grossman, Mike Laub and the Biology Headquarters team

With the enormous stress imposed by the COVID-19 crisis, Prof. Grossman and the leadership team in the Biology Department have done an outstanding job in leading the department.
Monty Krieger, Biology

Melissa Freedman, Alexis Marcus, Rich Landry, and Patricia Chen

Melissa, Alexis, Rich and Trish THANK YOU for re-arranging all of our Admissions Interviews, supporting applicants during this unprecedented time, and always being ready to problem solve and adapt to whatever new issues develop (each day!). We couldn't do this without you!!!
Jen Barba, MIT Sloan Admissions Office

Lori LoTurco, Catherine Kim, Heather Kispert Hagerty, Elizabeth Lennox, Michelle Coyne, Mary Ellen Sinkus

I would like to thank the team that has been putting together the daily digest of information for School of Engineering Department Heads, Administrative Officers, and communication professionals. It has been enormously helpful for those of us working to organize communications on a DLC level. I can't imagine how much work and thought goes into each digest - so thank you to everyone involved in putting it together!
Mary Beth Gallagher, Mechanical Engineering

Carlos Sendao

Carlos was constantly at the desk while people in Simmons moved out, making sure people could pick up last minute packages and check out of the building.
Lydia Sun, Undergraduate Student

Amber Bick

Amber is a star for tirelessly working storage hours and making sure Simmons residents had places to keep their things!
Lydia Sun, Undergraduate student

Prof. K J Bathe

Thank you PROFESSOR for your leadership and guidance during my MIT years. Your example was always remmembered, as a lighthouse, throughout all my professional years.
carlos a de almeida, Mechanical Engineering

East Campus GRTs/GRAs

Thank you for everything you've been doing to keep our community sane, hopeful, and fed!
We see you, and we deeply appreciate you!
Sandy Alexandre, East Campus

East Campus Exec (Miana Smith, Brendan Vaughan, Shuli Jones, and Kiara Carloni)

Their term in office only started this semester, and, even before COVID-19, they already had a lot on their plate, which they tackled with so much grace! We're all in this together, and Exec always made that morale-boosting sentiment feel truly palpable. In solidarity and with so much gratitude!

East Campus House Team (Sandy, Eden, Cristian, & Alexandria), East Campus

The I/T and Facilities Staff in RLE and EECS

Thanks to all my coworkers who have committed to being onsite to keep our facility and infrastructure running. Because of them, many others can work from the safety of their homes, knowing that the physical and I/T infrastructure they depend upon will continue to be maintained.
Dave Foss, RLE

Arthur Grau

Thank you, Arthur, for swiftly and graciously creating MIT@2:50, a 10-minute calming routine that brings dozens of us together each day on zoom. It reminds us to connect with each other by emphasizing the social rather than the distance. https://at250.mit.edu/
Community Wellness, MIT Medical

Prof Grossman, Course 3 admin, and SUMS

Thank you for all the support during this relocation process!
Anonymous, DMSE

Russell Boulais and Jay London

As decisions were being made in a fluid manner, Russell and Jay were on-call throughout the weekend of March 14 to edit and send critical, time-sensitive email messages going out from Institute leaders to parents and alumni. They spent many hours above and beyond to deploy messages--especially to concerned parents--with accurate, timely information to help them navigate during an uncertain time.

I want to thank them for their dedication.
Emily Kathan, Alumni Association

Josh Torres

Thank you for looking out for your peers and coordinating the effort to raise awareness for students with nowhere to go.

Biological Engineering Faculty and Staff

Thank you to all of the Course 20 faculty and staff. So many of these outstanding and brilliant individuals also have so much compassion and care for their students. To Professor Belcher and Professor Manalis, thank you so much for giving us an impromptu "graduation." To Professor Lauffenburger and Professor Griffith, thank you for being our safety net and for offering us your kind thoughts and prayers. I cannot begin to name and thank all of the Biological Engineering faculty and staff who have helped so many of us throughout this difficult time. But I hope that this "thank you" is one step in that direction. I look forward to being back on campus - hopefully, to get my real diploma.
Anonymous, Biological Engineering Undergraduate

EECS Undergrad Office

Katrina, Vera, Brandi, and Myriam, thank you for being so supportive and advocating for all EECS undergrads and MEngs. We know you're working so hard and must be incredibly stressed and worried yourselves, and we appreciate how much you've done for us.
EECS MEng Student

Ian Waitz and Suzy Nelson

Their calm, steady, compassionate, and decisive leadership has been instrumental in helping us navigate this unprecedented global crisis.
David Randall, Division of Student Life

Chris Walley, Karen Gardner, Todd Holmes

I was away for research fieldwork, and Chris, Karen, and Todd went out of their way to first help me try to get an exception from the travel recall and then help me get home. I felt very supported and cared for. Thank you to them for helping me when I felt overwhelmed and alone.
Nadia Christidi, STS

Jonathan Nolan and McC House Team

Jon and his team did everything they could to make the transition for students as easy as possible. Every request we made was met with a response of "I'll see what I can do" and was taken care of almost immediately. Jon and his team helped make it so that students could store their belongings in house, so they could move out more quickly and have one less thing to worry about.
Al-Muataz Khalil, McCormick

Professor Patricia Tang and Instructor Lamine Touré (MIT RAMBAX)

Jerejef! Thank you both so much for the compassion and understanding you have shown to all of us in Rambax! The last in-person advanced practice that you organized for us was the closest to "normal" that I had felt since this crisis began. You gave us a space to be together, relieve our stress (playing "gin" always seems to help with that), and to feel safe and comfortable. Thank you for ending our practice with bakks that would wish us good health, happiness, and a time to meet again. Thank you for not taking the simplest method, and instead figuring out a way for us to continue virtually– no small feat for a performance ensemble.
Anna Aldins, undergraduate

Ashley Hague

When we were unable to get a courier for specimen transport from MIT to the DPH Lab, Ashley brought the specimen herself.
Jane Sylvester, Medical

Cameron Cler (GRA for 3rd floor of Burton Conner)

Cameron is the single most understanding and supportive adult that helped our living community, Burton 3rd, transition during the crisis. She consistently reached out to students individually to see how they were doing, and genuinely listened to all our issues and did everything she could to comfort us. It would be a shame to not recognize her for everything she has done.
Rikita Bansal

Matthew Ganatra

With unprecedented foresight, Ganatra managed the storage of an entire dorm that is about to close for renovations. He did so days ahead of DSL's response.
Nickolas Stathas, EECS

Stefan Helmreich, Anthropology Head, and Chris Walley and Graham Jones, Anthropology Professors

Thank you Stefan for keeping the entire department (including TAs) abreast of ongoing policy developments at MIT due to COVID-19—updates are timely and relevant but also include encouraging notes in a very uncertain moment. Thanks also to Chris and Graham for their ongoing advocacy for students, especially for the most vulnerable undergraduates among us. And thanks as well to everyone else in the department working behind the scenes to keep things running!
Timothy Loh, HASTS
