I would like to recognize Nancy for the amazing care and her attention to detail to every referral and to the patient the referral is linked to. Her knowledge in referrals makes sure the patient is aware of what is going on with the referral every step of the way. Her friendly & supportive attitude is truly appreciated by patients and staff. I would like to thank Nancy for everything she does for our community! We are lucky to have her on the MIT Health team.

Heroic…patient…really smart:
This is how your efforts were described to me today, after you had helped local teams and the PI get a large, complex CSAIL ARPA-H proposal submitted under extraordinary circumstances. Thank you for supporting research & administration excellence at MIT!

Annie Liau, Retiree

Erin Hall

I would like to recognize Erin Hall, one of the OSATT Strategic Transactions Officers, for her excellent contribution on behalf of MIT as a leader and expert in the recent Contracting Forum held by UIDP, a national academic-industry partnership organization. UIDP President and CEO called Erin a "natural leader" and gave his thanks and compliments to Erin for her role (co-chair) in making the event, which convened more than 140 professionals from university and industry sectors across the country, a tremendous success. Additionally, I would like to mention that Erin's contributions at MIT are just as noteworthy and appreciated; for nearly 20 years, she has supported MIT research engagements of all kinds, but particularly those in ChemE, AeroAstro and the Koch Institute, with sound judgment, efficiency, creativity and good humor.
Meghan McCollum Fenno, Office of the Provost, Vice President for Research, Lincoln Laboratory

Maximilliano Martinez

Max (mniwheat) is the dread pirate roberts of the mailing list of 'Not-Faraz'. He shares "amusing, intriguing, and unmoderated content for those who love to learn, ranging from everything trivial to transformative." Not-Faraz is a cool community where other people can share whatever they think is also cool.

Recently, Max posted a dozen CSVs, including one with notes from reading ELEVEN MILLION words of MIT Admissions content. I'm sure Faraz would be proud. These CSVs, especially the MIT-related research, seem like they took a LOT of effort to put together. This is a lot of work for like no reward, and I wanted to recognize his erudite curiosity and sharing.
Lucas Chu, Xreg Student

IS&T - Olympia Valentine and Dudley Kirkpatrick

During a recent OAuth upgrade with DocuSign and e-Builder we ran into some authentication issues that could only be resolved by resetting a service account that had been created. Olympia and Dudley worked with me well beyond normal business hours to resolve the issue avoiding a disruption in DocuSign Services. From me, and the entire user community in e-Builder - thank you Olympia and Dudley!
Salvatore Angelone, Facilities

Deb Shafran

We had a situation where our scheduled tunnel walk leader was unable to lead a getfit sponsored tunnel walk. Deb was there as a participant and quickly informed me how the leader was not there. She then stepped in as the walk leader, giving the 7 other people the opportunity for exercise during the day. Thank you Deb for helping out in a pinch!
Rachel Bigler, MIT Health

Dennis Burianek and Kenny Sims

Dennis and Kenny are my department leaders. They have been supportive of my desire to return to school for an MBA and have continued to provide challenging work for me to grow and develop. Their understanding and support has allowed me to be more focused on the things I need to while balancing work and MBA and my personal life.
Julie Arloro-Mehta, Employee at MIT Lincoln Laboratory

John Shriver and Michael Leskiw

Shout to John Shriver and Michael Leskiw in OSATT for their tremendous contribution to supporting several major agreements with MITEI recently. John and Michael brought their specialized skills and negotiating finesse to help navigate complex agreements that are leading to novel and exciting engagements with industry at MIT. This was a huge team effort spanning the research administration ecosystem of OSATT Core, TLO, RAS, MITEI and more; and this is just a quick note of how much John and Michael's important contributions are recognized and valued here at MIT. Thank you, John and Michael!!!
Anne White, Office of the Provost, Vice President for Research, Lincoln Laboratory

Kate Hammond

Kate is immensely helpful and always gets back to me quickly. Over the last few months she has helped me with all sorts of inquiries, most of which probably aren't technically in her wheelhouse but she's always willing to track down the answer regardless. I am so grateful to have a colleague like Kate. Thank you!!
Gaby Wirth, MIT Museum

Research Administrators

I would like to express my gratitude to the many talented research administration professionals across MIT who enable the research enterprise through technical excellence and content expertise day in and day out. Thank you for helping faculty members, PIs, postdocs, and students impact the world through cutting-edge research and scholarship! Happy Research Administrator Day!
Anne White , Office of the Provost, Vice President for Research, Lincoln Laboratory

Abigail Ketchen, Senior Financial Officer IMES; Caroline Lowenthal, Alliance Manager, OSATT core; Kelley Shepard, Richard Corrente, Accounts Receivable, VPF; Bernadette Vallely, Team Manager, RAS

This amazing teams in IMES, OSATT Core, VPF, and RAS worked creatively and collaboratively to solve a tough issue managing a sponsored payment process recently. I was told that "Abigail in particular has really gone above and beyond on this work - not only is she taking the lead on reconciling invoices, POs, and payments for IMES projects, but she’s also taken responsibility for sorting these things out for PIs in other departments. Having a single person handling all of this, especially someone with her high level of skill, has really made the process more efficient and comprehensive." Thank you Abigail, Caroline, Kelley, Richard, and Bernadette so very very much!
Anne White, School of Engineering

Jeremy Kennelly

In addition to being a pleasure to work with, Jeremy has gone above and beyond the call of duty to aid me and the MIT Election Data and Science Lab with all of our subawards. I am very much indebted to Jeremy for his knowledge, hard work, good humor, and patience during a long grant process.

Manny, Chef at Sloan Cafeteria

I started at Sloan in August of 2022 and have interacted with Manny while getting lunch on and off the entire year. Manny is always very kind, helpful, and enthusiastic. He always has a smile on his face and seems to care deeply about the work that he is doing. I just want to recognize that his personal enthusiasm and care for the Sloan community while serving food does not go unnoticed.
