Unsung Hero
Patricia Shea, Administrative Staff member in Group 61 at Lincoln Lab, defies any conventional image of the role and makes the impossible happen. Her work includes logistical support and facilitation for large-scale facility and field test projects. Her talent for seamless coordination of myriad details makes multiple groups, Divisions, and the Director’s Office repeatedly request her to handle large special projects that are critical to success. Last year, she coordinated the logistics to deploy, set up, tear down, and transport material without “dead time” between three campaigns. When the sites needed 50-foot lifts, her quick identification of sources and ability to get the lifts correctly deployed converted near-failure into success. This outstanding individual possesses a rare mix of people skills, resourcefulness, attention to detail, and dedication. She accomplishes results others could not achieve as quickly, if at all. For caring about work and people, putting her heart and soul into projects, insuring that loose ends come together, and performing exceptionally on a daily basis, Patricia Shea receives our Unsung Hero award.
