Anne Deveau

Since joining the History, Theory, and Criticism Program in the School of Architecture, Anne Deveau has brought amazing calm and order. She tirelessly updated and clarified all curricular policies and requirements. She provides direct support for three faculty members and backup support for four more. Her quiet efficiency, gentleness, and the sparkle in her eye make the period before her arrival retrospectively resemble a maelstrom. Her highly attuned administrative skills and uncanny capacity to foresee complexities well ahead of others inspire envy in other programs at MIT and elsewhere. Beyond her day job, she dedicates many hours to the Working Group on Support Staff Issues. After addressing commuting and transportation issues, spearheading the Peer Resources Task Group, and becoming Junior Co-convener of the WGSSI while still chairing the Task Group, she now improves life for all MIT support staff as Working Group Senior Co-Convener. For Serving the Client so admirably, we commend Anne Deveau and congratulate her on receiving this award.
