Vacation Tracking

MIT believes in the importance of taking time off from work to relax and rejuvenate.

While the vacation benefit is the same for nearly all eligible MIT employees, the method for keeping track of vacation differs according to employee type. Regardless of vacation tracking method, all employees are expected to get approval from their supervisors before making vacation plans.

Vacation Policies

Administrative, Support, Service, and Sponsored Research Staff at MIT receive paid vacation according to Section 4.2 of the MIT Employment Manual.

Senior Researchers, Postdoctoral Associates, and Technical Instructors are subject to the vacation policies outlined in Policies and Procedures: Sections 5.3.1, 5.3.2, and 2.3.6, respectively.
