Jessica Holland

Unsung Hero

Presenter: Provost Chris A. Kaiser

The next Unsung Hero we’re celebrating this afternoon is Jessica Holland Jessica is an associate staff member in Group 42 (Surveillance Systems) at Lincoln Laboratory where she leads the Traffic Alert and Collision Avoidance System Program. This is the primary system aircraft manufacturers use to avoid mid-air collisions—is carried by all large jet transport aircraft worldwide.

During the past year, the FAA decided to initiate full-scale development of Lincoln Laboratory’s leading-edge approach to airborne collision avoidance. Jessica’s efforts were a key factor in this decision. Her colleagues say that in her four years at the lab she has quickly become an internationally respected engineer and technical expert. One of her nominators mentioned Jessica’s personal motto (borrowed from Aristotle): “We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit.” Jessica Holland’s habit of excellence is helping to shape aviation technology.

Please join me in welcoming this Unsung Hero to the stage—Jessica Holland.
