Jennifer Currie

Unsung Hero

Presenter Chris Colombo:

“Our next awardee seems to make everyone’s lives easier. As office manager for the Public Service Center, she plans events, manages student staff members, and assists those who come into the office with questions. Tasked with centralizing the financial administration of diverse programs serving 2,500 students, she has instituted the processes that ensure the PSC’s finances run smoothly. While handling payroll for student staff, grants, travel expenses, and event costs, she is also the go-to person for every kind of task, whether what’s needed is advice, technical support, or research. Always pleasant and happy to help, she is known for being resourceful. Her nominators were particularly impressed by the work she did stepping in at the last minute to organize the IDEAS Awards Ceremony—an event that involved 40 teams of students and 30 expert judges. She ran the event smoothly while keeping everyone ‘sane and good-humored.’

“As one nominator wrote, ‘It takes true dedication and a great spirit to achieve high competence and a positive attitude every day with every task.’ Congratulations, Jennifer Currie.”
