Request a Leave

MIT is committed to supporting employees during times when they may need to be away from work due to a life event or medical emergency.

Before requesting a leave, you may wish to review our overview of leaves or browse our FAQs. We've also provided printable checklists to help you keep track of the steps you'll need to take before, during, and after your leave.

Request a Paid Leave

For most employees (see exceptions below), you may begin a paid leave request by calling Workpartners, our leave administration vendor.

You'll be asked to provide your name, date of birth, and MIT ID number in order to begin a leave request. Workpartners will then provide the necessary forms via email or postal mail.

You can also email Workpartners at mitloa@workpartners.com.

TTY users, please call 711 and provide the Workpartners telephone number above.

Employees are required to submit medical documentation for all leaves related to serious health conditions. Your pay may be impacted based on timing of your leave request and receipt date of medical documentation by Workpartners. Workpartners needs 72 hours to process leave paperwork. It then takes 24 hours to get to MIT for processing. Learn more about medical documentation requirements. and timing considerations and the impact on your pay.
