Saving for college can seem like an insurmountable task, and selecting the right savings plan causes anxiety for the majority of families. Parents and grandparents have many questions about the best ways to start saving for college when children are young. This workshop provides an introduction to the tax advantaged savings plans commonly used to plan for future college expenses. A College Coach expert will educate families about:
- Choosing the right savings plan
- How decisions today may impact eligibility for future financial aid
- Common strategies used to save and pay for college
- Key considerations regarding financial flexibility, control, and taxation to keep in mind throughout the process
