2017 MIT Excellence Awards + Collier Medal ceremony

Our next Outstanding Contributor is Jane Hamilton, Senior Human Resources Representative. Jane began her MIT career in September 1983 in Urban Studies and Planning and joined HR in May 1989. If you have posted a job opening in the past twenty years, chances are you had the privilege of working with Jane.  One of her coworkers remarked, “Jane is everything you want in a colleague—quick, responsive, consistent, and infinitely helpful.”

In fact, I’ll let her enthusiastic colleagues sum up the many reasons Jane is being honored with this award today:

Jane is someone we all rely upon for solid advice and support.”

“She is universally respected, remarkably effective, and undoubtedly part of what makes MIT great.”

“Jane is the rock of HR.”

“Whenever I think I have an impossible problem, Jane solves it… patiently and with a warm sense of humor.”

“So many people count on Jane, and she never lets us down.”

Let’s give Jane a round of applause – and an Excellence award!
